#64-Why I wrote a book on Digital Transformation Strategy? Sidhartha Sharma
‘The Digital Event-Horizon’ is my sixth book to get published in a span of 15 years, but it took me the longest time to write.
I wanted to be thoroughly ready before I pen down even a single word on the topic of digital strategy. When it comes to the subject of digital, I have interacted with many business leaders who are at the forefront of digital transformation efforts within their organization.
A lot of stories and talk around the word ‘digital’ inspired me to write this book. In my profession as a management consultant and digital expert, I sensed a multitude of emotions on the subject of digital transformation ranging from utmost seriousness to downright ridicule of calling it a fad. I also sensed confusion, lack of clarity, and worse scattered isolated experiments within organizations.
For over five years, I have been writing short snippets on blogs, LinkedIn on the topic of digital-driven disruption. This book is a sincere effort to organize everything I learned about digital topics and to answer all the questions that should be in the company boardrooms.
